この作品を始めたきっかけは弟の死でした。これまで彫刻というジャンルを勉強し、試行錯誤してきたなかで、頭で考えたり素材で考えたりさまざまな要素があったことは確かですが、この作品に関してはそれまでとは違う感覚でした。「やったほうがいいな」と自然と思いました。

アイディアはシンプルで、つくった彫刻と出かけて写真を撮るというものです。旅行写真に見立て、各地で撮影しました。このシリーズは今後も継続し、自分が過ごす時間をこの作品と共にしたいという長い計画です。

I started this work because of the death of my younger brother. I had studied sculpture and through many trials and errors I had certainly thought about it with my mind, with materials and with various other elements. However, I had a completely different feeling about this work than before. I simply thought "I should do it".

The idea is simple: I made a sculpture of my brother and traveled with it. Then I took photos with this sculpture in various locations, as if they were family travel photos. This series will continue and I will spend a lot of time with this work.
